hi, its me again {& its a wrap}!

Hi again sweet blog,

I have neglected you----and will possibly neglect OR rid-you forever very soon.  {have you read the book 7 by Jen Hatmatker}?
Thats why. {ha}.

Anyways, remember these?
Well, I wasn't forgetting.
{just not blog documenting}.

Over the past few months, I wrapped it up & ready to order some more.
The last 6 cards were a variety of handing the McD's drive-threw worker a rose without ordering anything, giving the sweetest most polite homeless man a fresh picked bouquet of flowers from my yard, to the last 4 being handmade clothing items as part of  the above mentioning of the book 7: an experimental mutiny against excess. This was Chapter 2 clothing.

So here you go folks, the final 6----and wait until you get to the last one.   Irony? Mistake? Either way, super coolness!

it sure does feel good.

Pass*It*Forward; Card 4

I had a work meeting at the State Office building on Monday.  Unfortunately, the Air Conditioning was out.  I arrived early so went to the bathroom.  There was the nicest lady janitor just working away and sweating just as hard.  I only had $2 on me, but grabbed it and a card and said, "You are working so hard and look hot, go grab yourself a cold drink.  Can you even get a drink for $2 these days, but its all I got."  She laughed and was so sweet & appreciative.
{this was a fun one}.

Now, let me explain a little something thats on my mind....
My mom reminded me that you are supposed to do Random Acts of Kindness and not show it off b/c that defeats the purpose {I guess b/c I post pics on FB and do these blog posts}.  While I understand and know what my mother means {and agree}, I am doing this because I want to document it, link up to the Pass It Forward blog and hopefully inspire others to order cards.  {ordering cards also helps the shine scholarship project}.

& one other cute story that relates.
I have been trying to explain to Avery what Random Acts of Kindness are & Passing it Forward, etc.
Yesterday when I picked her up from school, she handed her friend her stuffed animal pug she calls Speedo {our family dog pug name} and said, "Here, you can take Speedo tonight, take good care of her."  Her friend was super excited.
I was so proud of Avery for doing that & when we were in the car, she said, "Mom, when I gave Ciara Speedo to have for one night, was that one of those kindness things you were talking about?"  {It sure was, baby}. love. her.

Pass*It*Forward; Card 3

Most won't know of a little forum I belong to where you can buy, sell, trade.  You can also share sewing ideas, mommy thoughts, just about anything over at Moms In Style.

This is how card 3 went----stopped on over at the BST section and posted:

I found it so ironic that "sunnyside" was the first commenter.  Our messages to one another were even more special and it seemed like this was just meant to happen to her the other day.

{insert small tear after seeing this}:

3 down
{actually 4th went today; will save that for another post}. 6 to go.

Kate

Pass*It*Forward; Card 2

If you don't remember what this is all about, start here.

Today I did more shine spreading---Passin' it forward...
Some of you know that I returned to work at my previous job as an ISC (pretty much a social worker for Adults with Disabilities). When I returned, I was a little anxious about having a brand new Team Leader.  She has made me feel so comfortable being back, been understanding when my kids have been sick (and we know they have been a lot in the past few months).  & in addition, she has kept me calm during my transition taking the time to listen to non-work related stuff while dealing with anything else she has going on in her life.  So, Miss Laura--today was your day for some shine!

She LOVES diet coke. Seriously, one day, she was walking in holding 4 cans of it. & she hates receiving flowers {ha, she had a funny story with that one}  So here is what I did...

2 down, 8 to go.
Don't worry, strangers are coming too....
I even plan explaining this to Avery & having her pick what she wants to do.
{that will be a fun one}

Kate

Pass*It*Forward; Card 1

Not sure if anyone follows this lil blog of mine, but if you do, you will remember this post, a lil sneaky, sneaky.
Meet Ashley of the Shine Project.
She is doing BIG things & I am a total admirer.  My sister, Mandie knew of this & got me one of her Shine Necklaces for my birthday. {I wear it almost everyday}.

Well, leave it to Ashley to go even further & create Pass It Forward.
You log your card, send it off to someone & do anything you choose, they do the same, & you watch how many lives have been touched by a simple, unexpected random act of kindness. {easy}
{the perfect solution to make small differences with BIG end results}. I WAS SOLD & ordered 10 cards.
I've been in a lil funk & this was the perfect solution to get me out of it.
How could I not?

Yes--it can be anyone; family, friends, strangers, people making a difference; the choice is up to you.  The first person who came to mind was Avery's afternoon preschool teacher, Stephanie. You can tell she LOVES her job which is rare these days.  She is trying to make Avery's class into something better than its ever been.  She enlightens, enriches, & expands their minds.  {not to mention, she has a super cute blog you should go check out}.

So here you go...

9 to go & I am SO excited.

XOXO,
Kate
